How Do I Pay?

When signing up we send you a Direct Debit mandate to sign up to. The monthly payments are then taken each month. If you start mid way through a month, you will only pay for the days you use, then the following month on the 1st your Monthly Membership fee will be taken via Direct Debit.

Is There A Minimum Term?

We have a 30 day notice period. If you’re not happy, don’t think you’re getting the use, just send us an email and 30 days later the agreement is cancelled and you’re on your merry way.

How Do I Sign Up?

Call the team on 0203 983 4135 or email info@yellowhatstudios.co.uk and ask to arrange a viewing. Once you’ve picked your room, simply send an email confirming your intent to sign up. A member of the team will send out the Membership Agreement for signature. Once we’ve received the signed agreement, one month’s deposit, some ID and proof of address we can meet you at the studio to give you your keys. Boom you’re all signed up.

Will I get the slots that I want?

People nearly always get the slots they want based on our fair usage policy and sharing of peak time hours. We also seek to match up people wherever possible in the best way to maximise your options in the calendar e.g. have the right balance of mainly; day time, night time, weekday and weekend bands.

Why Choose Yellow Hat Studios?

If you rehearse once a week then you will save money. You don’t have to worry about trying to call to book, worrying about anyone else booking your slots, worry about cancellation fees. There are so many reasons why to join, but why not give it a go? You can try for one month and if it’s not for you, then you’ll know either way.

Is There a Waiting List?

If we’re full then we put you on a waiting list and will be contacted once we have availability. Don’t worry though, we’re constantly on the lookout for new sites so hopefully we will have a new studio space for you even if this one is full.

Can I Drop My Gear Back After a Gig?

Absolutely. You have access to the studio 24/7. All Rooms have a whatsapp group, so might be worth dropping a message letting whoever is rehearsing know, but we’re all friends here and sharing the space.

Can I Bring My Bike In?

No you cannot. The Studio would be full of bikes and mud. We have a bike locking section outside the front of the studio to chain your bikes too.

Is There Parking?

Yes, we have 5 car parking spaces outside the Studio. They’re usually available and on a first come first serve basis. After 18:30 you can park for free anywhere on the road.

Do You Have Storage Available?

We have Storage in the Small and Large Rooms. Storage is free in the Small Room and £15 for a Medium Locker and £30 for a Large Locker in the Large Room. Not all Members need Storage, so we do it on request to make sure we offer the best price and set up for each of our Members needs.

How Do I View The Rooms?

We have video and photos on the Our Rooms tab, but if you want to come down just call the team on 0203 983 4135 or send an email to info@yellowhatstudios.co.uk and we can arrange to show you around.

Can I Leave My Gear Set Up?

Nope – we have all the equipment you need, so you should not need to set anything up. If you do, then you will need to take it home with you or leave it in our storage lockers.

Is There WIFI?

There certainly is. Each room has a WIFI connection.

Are There Any Hidden Charges?

It’s just one monthly fee with no hidden charges. You do have to pay one month’s deposit but this will be given back to you after your 30 days notice period ends. 

Is The Site Secure?

It is indeed. We have a 1 tonne magnetic door lock, 4 door coded lock door system, CCTV and if you’re leaving your own equipment the Storage Lockers are all uniquely coded for you.

How Do I Access The Site and The Room?

Our Members are given fobs to access through the main security door. The rooms are then locked with coded locks. You will be given the code for your specific room and then the studio is all yours for your allotted time.

Do I Need To Bring Any Equipment?

All the rooms come fully equipped with everything you need but you are welcome to bring whatever gear you want. If you head to Our Rooms page you can see pictures of the rooms with equipment as well as a list of the equipment available in each room. We don’t provide guitars, keyboards or any musical instruments as they’re usually quite personal to the Members. You need to bring them with you. However, we do have storage lockers where you can leave your equipment to save lugging it on the tube, bus or bike.

Is It Good Value?

If you rehearse once a week for 3 hours, every week, we’re cheaper than all competitors. If you rehearse more regularly, then it’s incredible value. We have fully automated the site so we have reduced the costs of operating. These savings are passed on to you.

Are There Any Time Limits?

The studio is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The calendar for each room operates using a fair usage policy. If a room is busy then the fair usage policy applies where each Member is allowed a max of 2 x 3 hour slots (x3 on Small Membership) between 17:00 – 20:00 and 20:00 – 23:00 per week. We’re calling that Peak time. So every member can get 6 hours of peak time per week and can book those in two slots (three on a Small Membership) either at 17:00 – 20:00 or 20:00 – 23:00. In practice, there is usually flexibility to accommodate you and have a choice of different slots depending on other room member requirements for a given week. Outside of peak time, you can book up to your weekly limit.

Can I Book Hourly?

We do not accept hourly bookings, the minimum term is one month.We’re a different concept than hourly studios, you pay a monthly fee and can book up to 18 hours each week. That means our small Room is only *£2.30 per hour! Even if you only user 14 hours a week it works out to *£2.47 per hour. Remember this is for your own high end rehearsal room with all the other features and perks.

How Do Memberships Work?

You pay a monthly fee based on your room size. This monthly fee gives you a flexible 18 hours a week in the room of your choice. Not sure what room you need? Once you’ve decided what’s best, you sign up, get your own fobs and access codes and then book in your rehearsals using our online calendar.
